BENGKULU, mimbarline.com-Pemerintah Provinsi Bengkulu menggelar Jambore Literasi 2024 di halaman Kantor Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan, Senin (9/9/2024).

Acara ini bertujuan untuk mendorong minat literasi generasi muda dan masyarakat melalui berbagai media, baik digital maupun bacaan konvensional, dengan harapan dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan daya kritis peserta.

Kegiatan yang dibuka langsung oleh Gubernur Bengkulu, Rohidin Mersyah, diisi dengan berbagai perlombaan. Di antaranya, lomba bercerita tingkat SMP/MTS, pemilihan duta baca daerah, lomba debat bahasa Indonesia tingkat SMA/SMK/MA, serta lomba pameran berbasis inklusi sosial.

Gubernur Rohidin menyatakan bahwa perpustakaan bukan hanya sekadar gudang buku, tetapi juga merupakan jendela ilmu pengetahuan yang membuka pintu bagi perkembangan intelektual dan kreativitas.

“Literasi bukan hanya tentang kemampuan membaca atau mengenal angka numerik. Literasi sejatinya adalah kemampuan seseorang untuk menggali potensi diri yang didasari oleh kecerdasan dan pendidikan, yang pada akhirnya memunculkan kemandirian, kreativitas, dan karya,” ujarnya.

Ia menambahkan, di tengah derasnya arus informasi, perpustakaan memiliki peran sentral dalam membentuk generasi pemikir kritis, terutama di kalangan anak-anak dan remaja.

“Salah satu kunci dari perpustakaan adalah menyediakan akses yang luas terhadap berbagai bahan bacaan melalui koleksi buku, artikel, dan sumber daya lainnya. Ini menjadi tempat bagi generasi muda untuk mendalami topik-topik yang menantang dan memicu pemikiran kritis, sehingga dapat membentuk sudut pandang yang lebih luas dan mendalam,” tambahnya.

Pada kesempatan yang sama, Gubernur Rohidin menyerahkan bantuan komputer untuk kelurahan dan desa di Provinsi Bengkulu.

Ia juga meninjau stan pameran dan UMKM yang menyajikan berbagai produk makanan, minuman, serta kerajinan daur ulang. Acara dilanjutkan dengan peresmian Cafe Literasi dan Studio Podcast yang ditandai dengan pemotongan pita.

Sementara itu, Kepala Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Bengkulu, Meri Sasdi Jantan, menjelaskan bahwa Jambore Literasi ini akan berlangsung selama empat hari hingga 12 September mendatang.

“Peserta kegiatan berasal dari masyarakat umum, mahasiswa, pelajar, serta para pengelola perpustakaan perguruan tinggi, sekolah, dan perpustakaan desa/kelurahan di Provinsi Bengkulu.
